Skills Boot Camp

Skills Bootcamps are funded by the Department for Education via the Education and Skills Funding Agency. 

These short courses gives you the opportunity to build up skills and experience in construction, gain accredited qualifications and provide a guaranteed interviews to support you into secure employment.

Do you want to impress your future employers with relevant industry approved and recognised certification?

This Skills Bootcamp will open routes into construction careers and furthering career paths in the sector.  

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Land based skills novice course (including fork-lift truck licence)
  • IOSH Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
  • Level 3 First Aid at work
  • Employability support

We provide:

  • Interview opportunities
  • Delivery over a maximum 16 weeks.

To be eligible you need to:

  • Aged 19 or older as of the 31st August this year
  • Be resident in England and have to the right to work in the UK.
  • Employment status: You can be in work, self-employed, unemployed or looking to return to work after a break.
  • Employed learners: If you are currently employed within the construction sector, there may be a small financial contribution required from your employer towards the cost of the Skills Bootcamp.
  • Learners in education: If you are in full or part time education you may join as long as you are able to dedicate time to the Skills Bootcamp and will be free for employment within 6 months of completing it.
  • Only one Skills Bootcamp per year: You may only undertake one Skills Bootcamp (on any subject) in each financial year (1 April to 31 March)

To attend the training course, you must be able to provide the following:

  • Your national insurance number
  • 2 forms of ID in date - Passport - Driving Licence - Original Birth certificate not a certified copy (Must be issued within 12 months of birth)
  • A proof of benefit letter (if on Universal Credit, we can print this out for you)
  • Two letters to your current address, with your name on and dated within the last 3 months
